Some interesting things to share.

Hi guys!

Want to share some stuff with you. :)

Check out: http://cardkitty.com/index.php

Remember! This weekend, 10th to 11th July is the M11 prelease! :)

Some thoughts from Nationals'10

Bros,

Just wanna share some thoughts on this year's National. We were all playing Mystic Conscription for the Standard segment. I went 2-0 and 2-5 for the first day. It was quite upsetting and was very difficult for me to accept that I was 0-4 for draft. I think I practice quite a bit for ROE.

I decide I will play for fun and for some points. In the end I ended with a score of 5-7. Breakdown: 2-1, 0-3, 2-1(with 1 bye), 1-2.

I think it was quite a heavy dose of bad luck. :(

Anyway, Nationals is a very good experience. Everyone please try to qualify for Nationals in the future. :)

Friday, 2 July 2010

The day Kenneth's Jace, the Mind Sculptor took a dip...

Guess what?! Today is the day that Kenneth took his Jace, the Mind Sculptor for ice cream! Kenneth, Zau Lau, myself and accompanied by guest appearance, Wen Han, we went to UDDERS! They had just opened a new outlet at 87, Upper East Coast Road. It is quite cool with a very spacious double story building. :) After we had our ice cream from the counter, we went up to the second floor, filled with, what looked like secondary school kids, I saw Kenneth attempting to dip his Jace into his Tirimisu and Cookies and Cream! OMG! Attempted Drowning! But luckily he was kidding. He left it on the table. And the very next moment, Zau Lau cause Kenneth's spoon to drop on Jace. Completing the picture of Jace being fed with ice cream from Udders. HAHAHAHA!

Next Mad Cow Team supper! Udders! Dont worried, we will visit the outlet in Novena. :)

Tomorrow is Singapore Nationals. Gonna crash now. Need sleep. Wish us good luck! :)

Good Night Mad Cows! - blink blink...

Experience Sharing!

Guys! Wanna share an experience about going all the way up to Kuala Lumpar to play PTQ. It is very tiring if you decide to squeeze travelling and playing back-to-back.

It was a very small PTQ: Amsterdam. Only 36men. Which equates to only 6 rounds of swiss. This is the smallest PTQ I had played in recent times. It was quite bad I think I was kind of travel-lagged. Mana problems for the first few rounds and very quickly I was down with a score of 1-2. :( Finally ended at around 1630hrs with a score of 4-2. Kind of very disappointed with myself.

Half the field was dominated with Jund. Quite a bit of Mystic Conscriptions. 3 U/Ws. 2 RDW. 2 Turbolands. And a very surprisingly big portion of the field was by the U/R/G.

Three methods:

1) By Air. Take a flight up to KLIA. Kuala Lumpar International Airport. Take either a cab to event ground. It is about 45mins flight. The con is that the airport is 1hour away from anything and everything.

2) By Bus. Take a bus from any local travel company situated at Golden Mile. Average of $40. And you will be alighted at somewhere near Berjaya Times Square or Pudu. Take a cab or metro train to location.

3) By Train. Take a 10hour train ride to KL Sentral. Cost about $40. That is a transportation hub. From there, you can take any train from the myriad of companies.

*Note! For option 2 and 3, both are cheaper if you decide to spend a bit time and travel up to Johor Bahru and buy the tickets from there.

Grand Prix Manila'10

Alright guys! A write up to share what had happened in GP Manila. :)

First off! The tournament ground was very big! Oh come on... who would know it would be a 1000men GP? Just beside the convention centre is the Mall of Asia, once the biggest in Asia, now currently still rank third. It is really damm big. For all the four days we were there, we only cover about 3 blocks... haha.

As for the meta-game, I think Team Mad Cow selected the correct deck. Almost every locals' deck were: Vampires, Mono Red, and Naya. With our Mystic Conscription, we had quite a good run. With me having a 6-3 and Old Cow having a 5-4. He was quite unlucky. Met up with 3 Nayas, even with 3 round byes. :p

On Round 5, our dearest Old Cow, Daniel landed a match with the winner of Pro-Tour Honolulu Champion, Kazuya Mitamura!

Alas, the Old Cow lost to a bad hand and bad draws on the deciding game three.

As a lot of us did not get into Day02, we played the PTQ - Amsterdam. I was again 4-2-1. Why am I always 1 round away? :(

Everyone had lots of fun! The food was good. Everything was cheap. I get to know everyone a lot better too. :) Kudos to Chapman for getting everything booked and organised. Team Hong Kong was great company too! :) Till the next time! Haha! :)

Paintball!!!

I know. I know. I know the last time I organise this was a flop. But this time round we are tagging along to someone's event. My YEC is having a Paintball event on the 26th June, 10am - 4pm. It is a kind of league table. Cheaper as well. $30/pax. 5man/team. we can form 2 or 3 teams! :)

Any takers?! :)

Glad Tidings to Mad Cow Inc.!

The Chinese saying for this is: "双喜临门"

Today Han Ming a.k.a Goh Goh and me got into the Top Eight for Singapore: Regionals 2010. Which means we both qualifies for Nationals 2010! Yeahs! Plus LauZZ, this makes a total of 3pax from Mad Cow Inc. to Q for Nats. :) SO HAPPY!

Han Ming: Bant Mystic Conscription
Alvin: Red Blightnings

Great Cow! Chao Lin! You Wei! Jia You! and not forgetting Alex, Wei Qiang, Andrew and the Wan Ton Mee Seller (Gordon)!

I want to cover something spectacular that happened today. Han Ming sms-ed me the night before, asking what decks do I have. I told him Jund or Bant. But the Jund is not ready. No SB. So he just took a deck and played... Without knowing what is the decklist beforehand, he took the Bant Mystic Conscription less than 1 hour before the tourney, rush through the registration, with mulligan-ing almost every hand, he got a score of 5-1-1! My God! My Goh! One word: Epic. So pro... haha! :) I am so impressed by him.

I will post photos from the coverage soon! :) Once again, congrats! Next up, GP Manila for the Great Cow and me. :)

2x Celestial Purge
1x Refraction Trap
2x Day of Judgement
3x Manabarbs

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

1st Match (Bant Allies)
-------------------------
Won the roll and play first. I had a first turn goblin guide, and smack him for 2.
When he lay his Celestial Colonade, i though damn...dont tell me i'm fighting with U/W so fast in first game, gonna b tiring if i didnt end him fast. Manage to push the damage in the next 2turns, with his life to ard 7 and hadnt cast any spells on board. It was onli when my goblin guide flip over his talus paladin that i understand what deck i'm dealing with. Despite a casted 3/4 paladin in my way, i get away easily with a path and push the final dmge over and ended with a bolt.

1-0

He choose to play first. Land done...phew no first turn hada freeblade. My turn, steppe lynx done. he cast harabaz druid and was bolted by me on my next turn. His turn, casted a halimar evacuator milling away my burst lightning =.= so lihai.... With his allies coming out the next 2 turn, milling my path/bolt/burst/creatures away i managed to down till 5. With a bolt draw and ajani vengeant, i won the match.

2-0

2nd Match (Mono red/splash Black)
--------------------
It was a race to the finishing line. The critical moment was when i was down to 5 and his down to 8. It was my turn. Had goblin guide, kor skyfisher, ajani vengeant(5counters) in play. with no bolt in my hand, i attack with both of them dealing 4 damge, putting him down to 4, and flipping over a quenchable fire (shit!) With fear of putting myself in bolt range after his next turn quenchable fire, with no hesitation i used ajani's lightning helix and put in down to 1 and i'm up to 8. On his turn, he thought quite awhile on how to kill me in this turn. eventually he bolted my ajani and i know at tt point, I had the game in my hand. He casted quenchable fire and end his turn. I pulled a bolt and many options to kill. I was up 1-0.

2nd game, i boarded in my 2x celestial purge and refraction trap. The game was in my favour when he gt jammed at 2lands. I pushed the damage faster than he can take it and off i go. 2-0. After the match, he ask me whether i had sided in kor firewalker. He told me he was afraid of it and had sided in unstable footing. With no as my ans, he was dissapointed lol.

2-0

3rd Match (U/W Control)
-----------------------
Won the first game with ease, burns and push him down with creatures after creatures despite a 4th turn doj.
2nd game made a mistake for sb ( i think)by taking out 2 path away, leaving 1 behind. Mistake again in putting the land strategy as spreading seas take over my mountain on his turn 3, leaving my manabarbs, ajani on hand uncastable. Acted rashly and o-ring the spreading seas. With a 4th turn bsa, i was eventually unable to handle and lost.
1-1

3rd game was about the same as 1st. He was down to 6 and i have a ranger of eos on board. I pulled a goblin guide and on my hand was elite vanguard, bushwhacker and elspeth. With 5 mana on board(2mountains 3plains), casted a goblin guide then follow by elspeth. With no resp to both of my casting. I pumped ranger of eos and alpha strike. He conceed and i won the 3rd game.

2-1

4th Match (U/W control)
------------------------
wow u/w again...sianz. Will be shacked if i didnt chiong him in early game. Won the roll and kept my hand. 1st turn goblin guide and hit him for 2. I managed to push him to 3 with my life at 12. He up his life to 6 (forget how he up) and i was getting out of steam soon. With a ajani lightning helix followed by a lightning bolt frm consecutive draws, i won the 1st.

1-0

Sided in 1xdoj, 3xmanabarbs, 2xo-ring, 2xelspeth. Second game was tough as i didnt kill him as fast as a boros shld. With him at 12 manas while i at 6, i was going for a topdeck mode. His life was down to 8 and mine was at 13. With doj in my hand, i hardly can do anything about the 2 celestial colonade. He did a mind spring for 6 and had a sian diao face, thinking he must have pulled alot of lands lol. i draw a burst lightning, kicked and dealt 4 to him, putting him to 4. On his turn, he tapped out for martial coup, 10 soldiers tokens on board. I cast doj on my next turn and he seems to be mini-stunned awhile before clearing his tokens. He tapped 10 for his 2 colonades and put me down to 5 and i eventually won on a lightning bolt draw.

*In between gt draws of ranger of eos here n there in the critical moment which i forget when izzit. Can ask alvin, think he rmb cos he cant believe i pulled creature/spell/creature/spell 1 by 1 lolx*

2-0

_____________________________________________________________________________

With 4-0 up, the next 2 game end with mutual draws and off i'm to the top 8.

Top 8 decks are:
5x Junds
1x Boros
1x Mono-red (no splash)
1x U/W Control
______________________________________________________________________________

Qtr-Finals (Jund)
---------------------
Won the first round with ease and ended the game with lightning bolt in my hand.

1-0

2nd game, my opp kept a 2 land hand, and gt jammed. He put down forest on his first turn and like what ZZ alwys said "SIGN OF WEAKNESS". I follow up my first turn goblin guide. He then cast a mountain and done. Confirm sign of weakness!!!!!! veri few ppl play trace and i know he doesnt. Continuous hits with goblin till he found his savage lands and casted a sprouting thrinax which was then purged at his EOT. Casted ajani and tapped onto his savage lands. He was screwed with 2 irrelevant mana to cast anything. and eventually victory was mine.

2-0

Semi-Finals (Jund)
-----------------------
1st game, i was jammed on 2 lands and was screwed quite badly with overwhelming board. Inevitably, i lost the 1st one.

0-1

2nd game, we are stuck on a overwhelming board position and neither of us are willing to attack. He was down to 5 and i was at 10. With much calculation, i kicked bushwhacker and alpha strike..hoping to push a 2 damge over (as i have 1 creature more than him) with a lightning bolt on hand. he blocks with everything and manage to cast a doomblade on my 4th creature and i noe at tt point, is going to be a gg for me. He had 2 sprouting on board, and a 4/4 raging ravine waiting to be tapped. He attacked with sprouting and raging ravine(5/5)....i was considering to bolt his sprouting so to keep me away frm bolt range. But doing so means i cant kill him with anything on the next turn. Damage was resolved and told him if he has a bolt he will win. He show me the lightning bolt and off i am, no fate with the 3round byes.

0-2

__________________________________________________________

Decks that made to finals were jund and u/w control. they shared the packs but still a winner has to be decided. Chose the 20-sided dice roll way.
Player A rolled 2 =.= he was like wtf?! sure gone case liao.
Player B rolled........2!!!!!!! WTF like tt also can =.=

Reroll......
Player A rolled 1 xD GGFIED

guess what player B rolled......
have u guessed it right..
he won with a dice roll of 3 =.=|||||||

Reflections of Grand Prix Yokohama'10

Hi my dear cowies! :)

I feel this is kind of overdue. Let me share some experience about going to Japan for a Grand Prix.

It was a very 'uber' last minute decision that Chapman and I made to go for GP Yokohama, 20th - 21st March 2010. On Wednesday, Chapman called me and ask me this crazy question of going Japan, 3 days away from the GP itself. I did not know what got into me, but I also crazily say "Why not?! I would love too!". And here we go. We bought tickets for Tokyo on Thursday and off we go on Friday morning! Yokohama here we go! :)

After an arduous 7 hours flight, we arrived at Narita Airport, Tokyo. We took a train and headed straight for Yokohama, destination: Pacifico Yokohama.

The first thought that came to my mind when I reached the event ground was, "I got to be crazy." Haha. It was an event hall, similar to half a Expo Hall, which is very big. We signed up for the event and mingled around the players and managed to do some trading. Managed to catch a glimpse of the American team, Nakamura Shuhei, Saito Tomaharu, Kenji and many others. It was so cool! After which we headed for our hostel.

Day One of Grand Prix Yokohama'10.
Format: Extended.
All I had was a crash course on the deck I was playing, Hypergenesis. As usual, the results of the "goldfishing" was good. Well of course, it always was. Only normally when you are goldfishing. Haha.

First up was the Players' Meeting. 9am. Oh My God. Just slightly over 1000 players for the day. This is definitely my biggest GP ever! But what was kind of disappointing was that the organisation of the event was not very speedy. It was 9 rounds of Swiss and by the time it ended, it was nearly 11pm. :(

Some insights as to how the deck and I did for the GP:
1) Did not know the format well enough. But it got better after the first 2 rounds.
2) Combo decks are not really my kind of thing.
3) Japanese players are very courteous, most of them as least.
4) Got to have very good luck to be playing with Japanese players. (I bet nobody draws a hand with Simian Spirit Guide X 03, Forbidden Orchard X 03 and Reflecting Pool X 01)
5) Finally, it was great fun! I really had a good time and great learning experience.

After the GP, Chapman and I went for a short week of backpacking around Tokyo. :)

Team Supper and Prerelease

Hi fellow cowies and friends,

Just asking if any of you guys will be playing the prerelease at Suntec? I may insert additional prize as an internal team competition =)

Btw, Alvin is organizing the team supper. Look out here for more details!

Buddy System
- Your buddy is to help you in playing Magic. Please look for them to do whatever things you need to do with regards to Magic. No climbing and scratching of backs pls.

Buddy System as of now
1) The Raging Monster, ZZ - The Mini Raging Monster, Stan (Its so coincidence that both of them attacked the ribs and only ZZ survived....)

2) The Confined One, Kenneth - The Lousy Artist, Chao Lin

3) The Social Butterfly, Alvin - The Musician, You Wei

- Please approach your buddy if you need someone to mentor or oversee your playing. Any questions PLEASE do NOT forward it to me.

Apparently, 2 more years to 30 allows me to give the excuse of Mid Life Crisis and depression. So, do not, I repeat, do not pester me with un-necessary details of life.

Happy Mtg-ing!

Preparations for GP KL

Hi fellow cowies for GP KL!

Here are some things you may want to prepare for the grand event!

1) Dices and counters - just bring your own, lest you need to indicate how many counters on your planeswalker or chalices! Dices are good for determining who is going to start first

2) Pen and rough paper - Pen is a necessasity. Please take in mind that you HAVE to write down life scores on paper. Not anywhere else. It's also good to indicate how you have taken the damage or how your opponent was damaged. It is a tedious way but a very good strategy to prevent cheating of life total. (Not sure if we will be given a score pad as door gift)

3) Sideboard cards - its good to bring along EXTRA sideboard cards. Last minute purchase of any cards (be it common, uncommon or rares) is just gonna burn a hole in your wallet. Its good to keep your options open till you see the last minute grinders on Friday. The trend for tier decks usually are from the Last minute grinders.

4) Extra set of sleeves - some competitors that you faced could ruffle shuffle your deck real bad, or you may spoil your own sleeves from shuffling. Get an extra set. Purchasing from the event ground could be more expensive.

5) A mini file - for trading purposes

6) Cards to be signed by guest artist - self explanatory

7) Jacket or coat - air con = brain freeze = cant think

Good luck to all and for the umpteen time, check your email for the itinary and stop asking me what time are the flight!

Playtesting for Competitive Cowies!

Hi fellow competitive cowies heading to GP KL!!!

Please take note that there will be NO playtesting groups until after Chinese New Year holidays (ie: 16th Feb 2010) If you are interested to meet up and playtest amongst yourself, please go ahead and make the necessary arrangements =)

Here are some plans for playtesting, feel free to follow or improvise

Weekday playtesting:

- West Side Group consisting of Chao Lin and You Wei. If both of you are free, do meet up and play test.

- East Side Group consisting of Me, Kenneth, Zhao Zhi and Alex. We will try to meet on some weekday nights to playtest a bit. (Hopefully Alex can book out and dont need to accompany his GF =X)

Weekend playtesting:

Personal Opinion: My current feel is- After FNM, we are left with little time to play test (little = 2hours plus/minus) and with an empty stomach we are more prone to mistakes and with blood going to our brain we may collapse and go into a comatose state.

Suggestions:
1) Meet earlier, before FNM to playtest. (I can't join you guys due to coaching session)

2) Push FNM to an earlier time slot. (Someone need to run and register the event as I can't be there earlier too.. -_-)

3) Playtest before and after dinner. (West side group may KPKB... But we try to end by 2230hrs... )

Please feel free to inject some suggestions on how to playtest on weekends. BTW, all Sundays are packed with GPT KL. So unless all of you are not playing, wecan actually playtest on Sundays too!

How to playtest:(The Go Fish method)

effectiveness: 1 out of 5
Dazed and Confused level: 0 out of 5
(if you can get dazed and confused from this, please sell your cards and go back to whatever you were enjoying before playing magic)

You can sit by the table yourself and shuffle your deck, draw 7 cards and play the deck yourself. More for getting the feel of your deck...

How to playtest (the RED BULL method)

effectiveness 4 out of 5
Dazed and Confused level: 4.5 out of 5

Set A:
1) Player A will go first, with NO mulligan rule in effect. Play 10 games
2) Repeat step 1. Now with Player B going first.

Set B:
1) Player A will go first, with mulligan rule in effect. Play 10 games
2) Repeat step 1. Now with player B going first.

Set C: (By now, both players SHOULD be DAZED...Break out the Red Bulls!)
1) Player A will go first, with No mulligane rule in effect, deck is in built with sideboard hate. Play 10 games.
2) Repeat step 1. Now with player B going first.

Set D: (Confirm plus stamp. Both players WILL BE DAZED and CONFUSED. Need Cafe Cartel Cakes!)
1) Player A will go first, with mulligan rule in effect, deck is in built with sideboard hate. Play 10 games.
2) Repeat step 1. Now with player B going first.

Total Games played: 80

You dont need to be a mathematican to calculate your winning odds yah? If you are piloting a rouge deck, and score an average of 50% or more, congrates, you may be the next pro deck builder =P

How to play test (Bull Dozer method)

Effectiveness: 5 out of 5
Dazed and Confused level: 6 out of 5

Step 0:
Pick out a popular archtype in the format as your opponenet (ie: Player B)

Set A:
1) Player A will go first, with NO mulligan rule in effect. Play 10 games
2) Repeat step 1. Now with Player B going first.

Set B:
1) Player A will go first, with mulligan rule in effect. Play 10 games
2) Repeat step 1. Now with player B going first.

Set C:
1) Player A will go first, with No mulligane rule in effect, deck is in built with sideboard hate. Play 10 games.
2) Repeat step 1. Now with player B going first.

Set D:
1) Player A will go first, with mulligan rule in effect, deck is in built with sideboard hate. Play 10 games.
2) Repeat step 1. Now with player B going first.

Total Games played: 80

Now repeat it for another popular archtype. And carry on.... You will hate Magic after playing agn 2 to 3 popular archtype. Congrates!

Currently known popular archtypes:
1) Jund
2) Vampires
3) Blue/White varient
4) Bant varient
5) Eldrazi Elves varient
6) Grxis Control
7) America Control
8) Turbo Fog

Which method are we going to use?

Decide when we meet =P
Additional Mental coaching will be taught too!

What should I prepare before playtesting

1)UNLESS you HAVE CONFIRMED what you are playing, please go shopping for all your cards. Buying the cards a week before the actual event or on the actual day itself is sucidal... I foresee chase rares like Jace, the Mind Sculptor will be like $70? And all star uncommons like Bloodbraid elf will be like $8?

2) If you are still whining and wussying around your deck choices, please do everyone a favour. Proxy your cards nicely. NO acronymns please! What is ABC to you may not be ABC to others. Write the proxy on the cards with markers or in a list so that everyone can refer to. POst it pads are effective too!

3) Be prepared by harsh critism. Trust me. Getting critical hits during playtest is less painful than committing a mistake during the actual event and losing the game/match.

4) Play faster le! Each match is entitled to 50minutes. The same rule goes for playtesting per match. PLEASE DO NOT BE LIKE SOMEBODY WHO DREW 3 GAMES IN GP SINGAPORE WHILE RUNNING AN AGGRO DECK!

5) Each playtester MUST PROXY OR BUILD A POPULAR ARCHTYPE DECK. In case we are using the Bull Dozer method. =P

6) Stock up tons of Red bull! Just Joking!

Hope this helps everyone in preparing their decks for the upcoming GP!
Ill post another one getting extra supplies for the GP next time!

Coverage of Alvin's GPT Top 8

Alvin vs Hong Choon- Furious Shuffling; Gentle Drawing

Both players were shuffling furiously before passing their decks for their opponents to shuffle. However, both players simultanously send back their seven. Alvin kept his new hand of six while Hong Choon mull again and was satisfied with his new five.

Alvin kept: 2 path, 1 BSA, 1 Arid Mesa, 1 Behemoth Sledge, 1 Plains

Hong Choon Turn 1:
Laid a mountain and summoned a Goblin Guide and it charged into the red zone.
Alvin: 18

Alvin Turn 1:
Laid plains and pass the turn.

Hong Choon Turn 2:
Goblin once again charged into the fray. After which, Hong laid a fetch and use it to cast a Plated Geopede.
Alvin: 16. Hong: 19

Alvin Turn 2:
Laid the Arid Mesa and pass the turn

Hong Choon Turn 3:
Laid a Teethering Peak targeting the Geopede, and both charged into Alvin's empty board. The Goblin Guide in turn guided Alvin to a Misty Rainforest, while Alvin send the Peaky Geopede on his Path to Exile. Hong searched up Plains.
Post Combat Hong cast another Geopede.
Alvin:14 Hong: 19

Alvin Turn 3:
Laid the Misty Rainforest. Crack both Misty and Arid for a forest and mountain respectively.First play of Alvin's made its way- Knight of Relinquary
Alvin: 12 Hong: 19

Hong Choon Turn 4:
In what seems to be an akward moment, Hong send his Goblin Guide on the Path to Exile searching a Plain in the process, which triggered the landfall ability of the Geopede. He then realised that the Knight is actually a 4/4 due to a misread of the Knight's ability.
Without a doubt he proceed to swing with the Geopede.
Alvin allowed the Geopede through for 3 points for fear of burn spells.
Alvin: 9 Hong: 19

Alvin Turn 4:
This turn was probably the turning point for Alvin when he drew a Forest and use it to cast a Bloodbraid which cascaded into a Rhox War Monk. Eager for blood for his braids, Alvin send the berserking elf into teh red zone.
Alvin: 9 Hong: 16

Hong Turn 5:
Hong proceeded to create an explosive turning point for himself this turn. He laid and crack a Marsh Flat, triggering the Landfall ability for Geopede, making it a 5/5 nasty insect. Hong then created an Earthquake for 4, killing the Bloodbraid and War Monk.
The knight was saved by using its own ability to dig for an Arid Mesa in which was sacriface to dig a Plain to send the Geopede to Exile.
Alvin:4 Hong: 11

Alvin Turn 5:
Using his knight ability, the Knight went to discover an Arid Mesa which was used to find a Plain. Baneslayer Angel flew in to help salvage the situation.
Alvin: 3 Hong: 11

Hong Turn 6:
With no cards in his hands, Hong proceeded into the Topdeck Mode!
He drew and cast Ajani Vengrant and Ajani blasted Alvin into Oblivion.

Alvin 0 Hong 1

Sideboard:
Alvin
Out: 3 bant charm
In: 3 Celestial Purge

Game 2:
Once again, both players took a longer time to shuffle both their own decks and their opponent's deck.
Both are happy with their seven and Alvin took the lead.

Alvin kept: 1 Seaside Citadel, 2 Arid mesa, 1 birds of paradise, 1 Kinght of Relinquary, 1 Wooly Thoctar and 1 Baneslayer Angel

Alvin Turn1:
Seaside Citadel.

Hong Turn 1:
Steppe Lyn entered the battlefield

Alvin Turn 2:
Birds came and Arid Mesa

Hong Turn 2:
Teethering Peaks target the lynx and it went into the red zone.
Alvin: 16 Hong : 20

Alvin Turn 3:
Laid Mountain and cast a Wooly Thoctar

Hong Turn 3:
Unfazed, Hong simply laid Arid Mesa and crack for Mountains, and sending the Thoctar to oblivion with a Ring. He proceeded to send the 4/5 Lynx into the red zone once more
However, Alvin was prepared. He crack his Arid Mesa for Plains and send the Lynx on the Exiling journey
Alvin: 15 Hong: 19

Alvin Turn 4:
Crack the second Arid Mesa for Plains and in came Baneslayer.
Alvin 14: Hong: 19

Hong Turn 4:
Unfazed once more, this time, its Hong's turn to send Alvin's Baneslayer on the Path of Exile, which Alvin got himself a Forest. Hong then made a Goblin Bushwacker with a kick and used a Teetering Peaks on it. Bushwacker attacks!
Alvin: 10 Hong: 19

Alvin Turn 5:
Topdecked a Bloodbraid who cascaded into a Noble Hierach. Bloodbraid into the red zone!
Alvin: 10 Hong: 15

Hong Turn 5:
The Bushwacker decided to give Alvin a wacking again. Hong casts Steppe Lynx
Alvin: 9 Hong: 15

Alvin Turn 6:
Topdeck a War Monk and casts the Knight in his opening hand. Knight is a 4/4. Bloodbraid send into red zone again!
Alvin: 9 Hong: 11

Hong Turn 6:
Hong made a sucide move this turn by creating an Earthquake for 4. Killing everything except the Birdie flying high above the quake zone.
Alvin: 5 Hong 7

Alvin Turn 7:
Alvin threw down a War Monk and a Wooly Thoctar!
Alvin 5: Hong: 7

Hong Turn 7:
Hong casts a Kor Skyfisher and using some sugar and spice to send the War Monk into Oblivion with Oblivion Ring.

Alvin Turn 8:
Without fear, the 5/4 beast charged into the red zone.
Alvin: 5 Hong: 2

Hong Turn 8:
The tables suddenly seems to turn into Alvin's favor. Hong send his skyfiher in which Alvin send his Birdie to be food for the skyfisher and casts a Geopede post combat.
Alvin: 5 Hong:2

Alvin Turn 9:
Proceeded into Top deck mode! and drew Land. Wooly Thoctar swings again and chump down the 1/1 Geopede as snacks!
Alvin: 5 Hong: 2

Hong Turn 9:
