Hi Guys,
In order to prep Stan and Alvin, I have decided to write about my tourney experience for the National Qualifyer. It was an event of 7 rounds of swiss.
The meta game has greatly been affected by the recent GPs Top 8, consisting mostly of Faeries, Elves and U/W Lark.
Round1: Sanity Grinding 2-1
MVP is surely Putrid Leech! This card can break control deck nerves by forcing a huge pressure on their options. Just attack 'withwhatever' that is on your board. SB out some creature removals and bring in more threats!
Round 2: Faeries 2-1
MVP is our old man: Gaddock Teeg. I won the game with him in play and my opponent stuck with cryptic commands in his hands. One thing to take note, Scion of Oona spoils alot of combat tricks and single target removals. Try to play around that.
Round 3: U/W Lark 2-1
MVP: Smelly Hand. Although he took the first match, I won the next two games with him stuck on 1 land and 4 lands respectively. First turn BoP, second turn Doran, third turn Leige and your opponent is on 1 land sounds pretty exciting to me.
Round 4: Faeries again.... 1-2
Karma.... Made fatal mistake of not playing around Mistblind Clinque and Scion. GG
Round 5: Faeries again....... WTH..... Notice 5 rounds I played against decks with Cryptic commands... 2-0
MVP: Treetop Villages. Basically, I top decked path to exile for his last blocker and punch through his last blockers with 2 treetops and 1 putrid leech. He made mistake of Thoughtseizing me despite on 3 life left.
Round 6: Jund Good Stuff. 1-2
I lost to him not because of skill, but rather, because he was just plain lucky. He has better top deck skills. BUT I am gonna stomp him in Nationals... For Real!
Round 7: Green/White Tokens 2-0
The unfortunate opponent that got paired up with me. He needs an ID where as I need a win. For two games in a row, I mulligan till 6, keeping a 1land and 1 bird hand. Leige equip with Sledge. Enough said.
My conclusion
Doran is once again a 50-50 match up agn the meta game now. Armed with 2 best removals in the current format aka Maelstorm Pulse and Path to Exile and access to uber sb options like Celestial Purge, Forge Tender etc.
Metagame is seriously filled with loads of annoying flying pest. Thank God for the 3 Cloudthreshers in my sb, I could eke out a win through unexpected fae players.
My advice is to play something fast and furious. Jund is what I feel is best for such cases. Do not attempt to play faeries unless you have immerse amount of playtesting. (ie: Lucas...)
Good Luck for next Saturday. Need help for playtesting pls chio... =P
Decklist
4 Birds of Paradise (Mana is damn screwed in this deck, thus this pwns Noble)

Autopilot/Cascade Swans
Quite a famous, broken deck going around now, netting top 3 in Chicago and qualifying in quite a few regionals and more.
2 Ad Nauseam
4 Bituminous Blast
4 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Swans of Bryn Argoll
4 Seismic Assault
4 Reflecting Pool
4 Graven Cairns
4 Cascade Bluffs
4 Rugged Prairie
4 Ghitu Encampment
4 Treetop Village
4 Spinerock Knoll
4 Vivid Crag
4 Vivid Marsh
1 Mutavault
4 Fire-Lit Thicket
1 Mountain
sideboard:
4 Qasali Pridemage
3 Vexing Shusher
2 Volcanic Fallout
1 Maelstrom Pulse
2 Aura of Silence
2 Ajani Vengeant
1 Ad Nauseam
For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this deck is chock full of lands (many of them functional). So it doesn’t draw much other than lands; there are four major spell slots, which stick together two-plus-two like LEGOs:
* Bituminous Blast and Bloodbraid Elf
* Swans of Bryn Argoll and Seismic Assault
The Cascade twins are there to flip the functional cards. Bloodbraid Elf can literally only flip over Seismic Assault; Bituminous Blast can flip any of the other three cards (the cream dream of course being Bituminous Blast into Bloodbraid Elf into Seismic Assault).
With such a dense percentage of lands, the Swans + Assault combination is generally lethal. That is, every land pointing at a Swans of Bryn Argoll is 70% likely to flip another land; a minimum of one land per cycle will at least “keep you going” more or less “forever” until such point that you have 10 lands to throw at the opponent’s noggin.
Ad Nauseum has generally less risk in this deck than most because there are lots of lands. You can pick up lots of lands to kill the opponent with a Seismic Assault, or pick up essentially any of the other cards to set up or complete the combo.
