Due to the overwhelming response of fellow cows asking me to post my matchup with the absurbly modified christmas deck that i played during the Singapore open, here I am posting my match ups.
Round 1: Vs Jund
Game 1: Owned him fast and furious with LDs. Killed him with Cruel Ultimatum
Game 2: Stuck on 2 lands with 3 harrows in hand. WTH
Game 3: Stuck on 2 lands with 2 expedetion in play and 1 harrow in hand
Round 2: Vs Bant
My opponent is a newbie to tourney. He was extremely slow despite playing an aggro deck. I was irritated esp when he took my deck and shuffled it out of the table.
Game 1: Ownage. Violent Ultimatum 3 times in a row
Game 2: Lavalanche was in my hand, however, I could not get my 7th land...
Game 3: 2 lands with 2 cobras in play and 2 harrow in my hand... My opponent killed me on the 7th turn. WTH
Round 3: Vs Eldrazi
Game 1: 2 lands with 1 cobra and 1 expedetion and 2 harrows in my hand
Game 2: 4 lands, 1 cobra and 1 expedetion with 3 hellions in my hand. My 5th land never came. Nissa casts her ultimate. GG
Round 4: Vs G/W
I played agn another newbie who took up my deck and clean my last card for me because my last card got a bee hoon. Incidentally, my last card was violent ultimatum. Wanted to call judge, but, then when you are seated at a 0-3 table, you just feel like playing for fun. =P
Game 1: 2 lands, 1 expedetion, 1 cobra, 3 harrows staring down at 4 types of elves (llanowar x3, naya sureblade x2, bant sureblade) and my opponent casting overrun didnt help.
Game 2: This is the game I kicked myself. I tried going off on the third turn but I miscalculated. Made mistake and lose. LOL
Chao Lin arrives at the tourney area and somehow he laughed too much at me. So I went on a rampaging baloth mood....
Round 5: Vs Mono Black Vampires
My opponent recieved a game loss for tardiness. He said that he was in the loo.
Game 2: Rampaging Baloth mood = 4th turn ultimatum, 5th turn cruel into cruel.Ownage
Round 6: Vs Bant
Side story: Our dear friend, Alex stood at my table and we had this conversation
Me: Why arent you playing?
Alex: Dun have my name
Me: Why dun have your name, you dropped the tourney?
Chao Lin: Why did you drop the tourney?
Alex: I never drop. Maybe someone drop for me
Me: How can someone drop for you? You got check properly or not?
Alex: Dunno.
Me: Did you tick your score sheet last round?
Alex: never tick
Me:Then shouldnt be what. Did you see your name on the pairing sheet?
Alex: dun have
Me: Sure or not? Did you see your name under the pairing sheet le?
Alex: Dun have. Just got a bye
Me: Your name beside the bye right?
Alex: Oh! You mean my name? My name is there, but, got a bye.
At this moment of time, Chao lin did his favorite move of covering his face, my opponent jaw dropped and the players on the table beside me stopped and looked at him.
I think he just owned the 5 of us.
Game 1: My opponent stalled on 2 lands, a plains and a sungrove petal. Acidic Slime aka 'Sperm Bag' loves them.
Game 2: I was too lazy to SB. He went noble, noble and noble and Thornling.WTH
Game 3: He stalled on 4 lands. There was alot of commotion as 'Sperm Bag' and Goblin Ruinblaster aka 'Balls to you' did their snacking on his lands.
At this time I have to drop the tourney as I need to attend a dinner. This is the deck that I played
2 rampant growth
4 Kalhni Heart Expedetion
4 Lotus Cobra
2 Trace of Abundance
4 Harrow
4 Goblin Ruinblaster
3 Acidic Slime
3 Mold Shambler
4 Violent Ultimatum
4 Cruel Ultimatum
3 Voices from the void
1 Misty Rainforest
3 Scalding Tarn
4 Verdant Catacombs
2 Savage lands
2 Crumbling Necropolis
2 Island
4 Forest
3 Swamps
3 Mountains
SB:
4 Jund Charm
4 Lavalanche
3 Caldera Hellion
2 Flashfreeze
2 Swerve
Post Tourney Thoughts
After playing this deck, here are some general thoughts
- always read each card carefully. When I was playtesting, certain cards were being misplay
Ob Nix doesnt allow you to gain life =(
Heart Expedetion allows you ONLY to find TWO lands and put them into play TAPPED =(
Here are some reflective thoughts on the modified deck
1. Chapman and I both modified the deck because we were to power hungry for the cruel ultimatums to be played in the main deck. We really like the power of casting a cruel and drawing into a cruel as majority of our lands are already out. The life gain was also crucial.
However, in doing so, we upsetted the mana based. I was quite depressed when I was holding the cruel ultimatum in my hand and I have forests in play. My opponent was not going to give me one more turn.
Vice versa, I was holding Violent Ultimatum in my hand and I had Islands in play. Really not cool when you know the next turn will be lethal and you have answers but you cant cast it.
Morale of this point: Consistency or Power?
2. If you read this tourney report, most of the games I lost were due the number of lands I had. I really considered the hand of 2 lands, with either cobras or expedetion and multiple harrows to be good. But alas, the third land never came.
Morale of this point: better lucky than good
3. Lavalanche is awesome! Much better than the traditional earthquakes. It kills literally everything your opponent has. Planeswalkers, creatures esp Emeria Angels and her feathery friends deserve a fiery fall from grace and of course your usual weenies.
Morale of this point: Some cards dun deserve to be at the SB
4. Trace of abundance and Tri land is really good. It helps you to smooth out the mana esp for your 2 different ultimatums. However, too much tri lands reduces your basic land counts which means no legal targets for your expedetion, harrows, rampant growth. too much trance of abundance means minimum landfalling effects.
Morale of this point: Balancing act
5. After playing this deck, you just feel that other decks you are playing is VERY SLOW. I gold fished my old school G/W and I just feel that it doesnt have the raw power of this deck. A lot of modification must be made to this magical christmas deck. and hopefully I will use it in GPT KL!
May the Cows smile upon you in each tourney.

Mad Cow Inc. Christmas Party
Hi all,
On the 24th Dec 2009, there will be a Potluck steamboat at Kenneth's house.
The lunch will start at 2pm sharp. Every member to bring foodstuff for the steamboat. There will be side events for every one!
Here is the list of events
2pm - 3.30pm: Steamboat Potluck Lunch
4pm - 8pm:
1. Zendrikar Draft
3 packs of Zendrikar boosters
Price depends on the price of booster box
Keep 1 rare and winner has the first pick.
2. Standard T2 casual tournament
Swiss rounds
Winner will recieve Zendrikar/M10 boosters!
Entry Fee: Free of charge
Maximum of 10 proxies are allowed for this event
Description of this event:
Each player is going to play with EVERY OTHER player in the room. Take note of your own score. Player with the highest total number of wins will be the champ!
For example
Kenneth vs Alvin with a score of 2 - 1
Kenneth now has 2 wins
Alvin now has 1 win
Both of them will now look for other players to play with
The 2 events will be running concurrently, meaning you get to play the draft and T2 event at the same time!
Due to the lack of response, Alvin and I have decided to just collect $$ from all of you and we will go shopping for food. I also decided that it is not very convenience for people staying in the west to travel with fresh food on the train to come to the east.
Currently, I am thinking of collecting $10 from everyone who is attending the steamboat. Draft will be still at $4 per pack of Zendrikar.
Please reply asap. Looking forward to see you guys!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
(Take note: As soon as I recieved your sms on the food you will be bringing I will update this blog. You may also put it down under the comments)
May the Holy Cow smile upon you!

On behalf of Kenneth:
Well, although is T2 period… I couldn’t stop myself from making ext decks after looking at PT Austin. So in the midst of completing some shitty essay I have to write… I took a break and browse through the decks at PT Austin. The colour I would have always play is clearly under represented… Of course looking at the meta, I would never play control unless I can come out with something like UW draw-go type… No faeries for me. I just cant play it. If there are any ext now, probably this is what I will play… By no means I am a good deck builder so yah although I still feel my last ext deck was good enough for day 2 but poor judgement and ruling mix up cost me 2 games which was supposed to be a stroll in my books when I built the deck. No 4 colour special here… Alvin probably going to copy the deck I would have use for every constructed we play LOL.
The core of the deck
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Knight of the Relinquary
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Rhox Warmonk
3 Engineered Explosive
2 Umezawa’s Jitte
1 Sword of Fire/Ice
3 Bant Charm
4 Path to Exile
3 Treetop Village
1 Ghost Quarter
It really depends on the meta to fill up the slots… for YW who has never play constructed with me before… the deck I build always seem to be weird compared to the rest, if I cannot find a deck that is not in the meta tier 1 decks…I probably would not play at all… that’s why I am reluctant to form T2 decks…
Well the other cards…. Weird choices…but that’s me….playtest may fine tune it…maybe just add red HAHA
2 Trinket Mage
1 Tormod’s Crypt
4 Mana leak ( of cuz artifact lands….)
-4 Tarmogoyf
+3 Baneslayer
+1 Elspeth/Baneslayer
Or
4 Cryptic Command
3 Quasali Pridemage

Posting on behalf of Daniel:
Hi all,
I understand that it’s kind of early to announce this to all of you. However, I feel that it should be free for every one of us to be prepared for such an event. Especially it’s an oversea event. =)
As some of you might have already know that for next year, the nearest Grand Prix we are having is actually in KL, Malaysia, I was wishing and hoping that we can make a trip down to attend and compete as a team.
Current information that I have on hand is
- Its either in Feb or early Mar
- The format is Sealed (Zen and World Wake) or Ext
The format will only be Ext IF the event is in Mar. (Insider information). So before you scream off your asses at buying cards at rocket high price, NOW is a good time to stock up certain cards. Listed below are some cards worth getting NOW before the event is near
Lands:
Ravinca, Guildpact, Dissension Dual lands. (My recommendation is just get the color which you will wanna play. By now, you should have a sense of what colors you will play and what you will not play)
Tarmagoyf – See it? Buy it. Enuff said
Zendikar fetch lands – 4 copies per color combi is a must. Now is still cheap. Get them while its low
Gifts ungiven –Esp for the blue players or the combo players. Last heard price is $7 each
Life from the loam –Another card for the combo players
Thoughtseize – When there’s combo there’s disruption
For more information of the current hot extended cards please have a look at
http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/eventcoverage/ptaus09/welcome
And as for next Saturday, Ill be bringing my P6 kids for an outing prob to Sentosa or Zoo. All of you are welcome to join me.
Cheers,
Great Sable Cow

1st Outing!
Firstly I would like to apologise to ah goh for replying his EDH invitation 11 hours late :X sorry hor, I don't look at my handphone much when I'm at home :P
Alright, as you all know, the first outing is coming soon and as 1st IC, I have the privilege of organizing an event without fear of copyright infringement >D
So the current plan is that we'll be watching Year One at Tampines or somewhere in the city on either Sat or Sun (the website can't forecast the movie screenings so far into the future so we'll leave the movie timing a variable for now) and then we'll straight away proceed to EDH-playing!
Depending on the time of the movie, we'll have our lunch/dinner! Most likely will be before EDH or even before the movie, 'cause it'll be on the way as we move out of the cinema to a place to play and also because most of us cannot think well on an empty stomach (!).
Also, seeing how long it takes to finish one EDH game (:X), we'll prolly need to have another follow-up meal wahaha :P
I'm also thinking of after a few mass EDH games, we should split up into smaller groups because the waiting time is sibeh sienz. Let's also play mahjong!
I highly recommend activities to be held in the daylight part of the day so some of us won't have to rush for last bus etcetc ):
And I feel bad but can the default place for activities be ah goh's place (with permission from ah goh, of course)? In the meantime I need suggestions for another place to carry out activities. Maybe at the CC like what we did the other time before GP? If so we need alvin's help. I'm generally open to all suggestions, so keep them coming!
Look forward to my first EDH! See you guys soon! :D
P.S. I feel like playing Wii again :X

Hi all! We are baaaccckk! :) We came back with relatively good news, given that this is Team Mad Cow first foray into a overseas GP with 2 of its team mates. Zachary Lau and Alvin Neo. The trip was great fun! It was the biggest turnout in term of attendance for a GP in Bangkok! There were roughly around 50 Singaporean who turned up for the event and about half of us made Day 2!
For all those who stayed at Kantary House, it was all fun and games with drafting, cube, cards games like Citadels, Balderdash and even Dai Dee. :p Everyone hardly catch a wink.

First of all, Congratulations are in place for our very own, Ryan Luo! For making Top 8 at the GP Bangkok'09! Cheers!
For event coverage: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/eventcoverage/gpban09/welcome
Some team updates:
Zachary: 6-2, 1-2, 1-2
Alvin: 5-3 (Did not make Day 2)
3-4 (PTQ: Austin)
Some self-reflection:
I guess the main reason of not making Day 2 was due to myself making several blatant mistakes. Some were bad calls and most were just seriously mistake. Kind of spoke to Zhao about it and feel I should really get my act together. It is like I just keep repeating my mistakes even after being told. It is no excuse that I do not know what is the mana cost for "Maelstorm Pulse". :( Everyone tried and put in effort to help. Whenever they had no games, they will come to my table and watch. They will provide me with feedback like what were the mistakes. I really appreciate it. I feel that I really learned alot from this trip and feel that I could had done better but given my current "mistake-making" track record, I think I should start by playing more. Now I know a lot more rulings and ways to improve my play. Overall, it was a great learning experience! Glad I made the trip! :) Aim is to make Day 2 at the next GP. :) I am still on my "AQ for Nats'10" ambition! :)
Enjoy the pictures, my fellow Mad Cows! :)

Hi all,
forgive me for this long post. This is a schedule of events that I have planned out. Any suggestions and feedbacks would be much appreciated. IF you are the 'IC' of the event please plan due in advanced and post it upon blog so every one can get ready in advance.
In light of GP Bangkok, I was quite pleased with the results posted by our fellow team mates, however, I was quite upset when I learnt that Alvin did not make day 2 due to some crucial mistakes.
Now everyone, please hold your tongues and don't blame him. Reflect this upon yourself
- in the next region major event, how to prevent yourself from making critical mistakes and result yourself in a highly depressing sucidal state?
- I always believe games, irregardless of is it physical or mental, reflects your life. How effective are you at making decisions in real life and the gaming world?
- Real life >>>> game! Please don't be over serious if you lose! Learn from it and move on!
So therefore, I proposed the following schedule of events which is casual and light hearted for everyone to learn basic Magic tricks and decision making.
Since everyone of us are sooooooo enthusiastic about EDH, we will be using EDH as a way of practicing our plays. As for limited, to my knowledge, M10 is experiencing high demand which means low on stocks, so we can consider using the next new set when it is released.

So therefore, here I present to you the schedule for Sep and Oct!
For Sep Month
5th/6th: In charged by Stan.
12th/13th: In charged by Chao Lin.

17th/18th: In charged by Stan
24th/25th: In charged by Chao Lin (Team Supper)

Please feel free to organise any thing that is FUN and ENJOYABLE, I don't mind physical activities and such, but, please be creative. Some examples are

LOL. I am not limiting the creativity of everyone, but, in all due respect please at least include a EDH or a draft or a sealed deck for at least 1 ROUND. That is our main focus.
And for everyone's sake, please dun have the same old events like the week before~
For the people IN CHARGED,
please list down the stuffs to bring and most IMPORTANTLY BUDGET! I do not want to see any one hawkering their asses.
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Some minor changes to EDH;
(at this point of time, I seriously think I am diverging too much)
1) No more booster packs as prizes.
2) Proxies are allowed for those budgeted people. However, the card being proxied must be of value from $0.50 - $30.00. Maximum of only 5 proxies!
3) Prizes have been changed to $2. We will split the prize between the top x players depending on turn out.
If 5 of less, top 3 gets the amount shared
If 6, top 4 gets the amount shared
If 7, top 5 gets the amount shared
If 8, top 6 gets the amount shared plus bonus prize for the winner, sponsored by me.
4) EDH will still use the ROUND TABLE COMBAT CONCEPT. (like what we did the first time)
5) EDH turn will now be limited to 1 minute. (to prevent really really sllllloooowwww plays like some kuku we played previously)
6) Seating will be randomly choosen, as with direction of combat.
7) One member in the game will be awarded the title of Time Keeper to time each turn.
That will be all for EDH
___________________________________________________________________________________________
I am planning a Magic camp, where we will eat, sleep and play Magic. Though, I am still thinking of a good place to hold it. I would like to ask everybody's opinion and budget if I am going to run one such big event.
The only current place I could think of is those fanciful resorts, which could be slightly expensive. So please do give comments.
___________________________________________________________________________________________
We are still looking for 2 players to be part of the team to play Magic at a semi pro level. So if you friends who are interested please let either the council members know!
___________________________________________________________________________________________
I am currently waiting for next year schdule of Grand Prix, if I am not wrong it should be Malaysia. So keep a look out maybe we can head North and play in a foreign grounds. =)
___________________________________________________________________________________________
So,
thank you everyone for your time in reading this whole lot of information. Do give your feedbacks and opinions.. In charged for outings, please please post your plans in advanced!
Cheers,
May the Cows always have milk for the strawbeeries to grow red and juicy so that the Pineapples can lick them and explode upon contact!

Next EDH mini tourney and Blessing of Juju
Hi all,
thank you for the wonderful experience of Multiplayer EDH and Wii fun and laughter.
Our two team members will be heading to Bangkok for oversea GP, let us wish them our very best and hopefully win cash prizes.
From now till next year, I don't think there will be any competitive tourney coming up so other than Zendrika Prerelease which is in late September, I am officially making EDH a permanent event on every Saturday.
I hope from the EDH playing can help build up the'missing' skills most of us are lacking while playing Magic.
And at the same time, someof the older cards are really dirt cheap and BEST of all, u just need 1 copy! =)
I got a whole new deck by just trading away less than 10 better rares (hint hint...=P)
We can start next week though 2 players will be missing. Anyway, Stan is making his deck now so we still can 5 man it!
So details of EDH is as follows
Elder Dragon Highlander
Deck- 100 cards singleton
Banned cards- as from website
Rules- as from website
Location- maybe somebody's house?
Time- after 12pm (need beauty sleep and fat lunch)
Prize/Price- 3 booster packs (latest edition pls, dun kuku go buy unhinged.)
If tourney is 5 man and below, ante $2 each, winner takes all.
Payout for 6 man: (18)
1st- 7
2nd- 5
3rd-3
4th onwards-1 each
Payout for 7 man: (21)
1st-8
2nd-6
3rd-3
4th onwards- 1 each
Payout for 8 man: (24)
1st-9
2nd-7
3rd-3
4th-2
5th onwards-1 each

Webbie for some net decks though I prefer ur own creation http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=143563
Good luck to Alvin and Zhao Zhi!

M10 Pre-release
Hi Guys,

I can only go for Saturday 2nd flight and both of Sunday. DO let me know so we can meet up or something.
And Happy birthday to Stan, Zhao Zhi and Kenneth!
(PS> I need Sable Stags and the Geen/White land. If you have them on pre-release sell me please!)

My Tourney Report
Hi Guys,
In order to prep Stan and Alvin, I have decided to write about my tourney experience for the National Qualifyer. It was an event of 7 rounds of swiss.
The meta game has greatly been affected by the recent GPs Top 8, consisting mostly of Faeries, Elves and U/W Lark.
Round1: Sanity Grinding 2-1
MVP is surely Putrid Leech! This card can break control deck nerves by forcing a huge pressure on their options. Just attack 'withwhatever' that is on your board. SB out some creature removals and bring in more threats!
Round 2: Faeries 2-1
MVP is our old man: Gaddock Teeg. I won the game with him in play and my opponent stuck with cryptic commands in his hands. One thing to take note, Scion of Oona spoils alot of combat tricks and single target removals. Try to play around that.
Round 3: U/W Lark 2-1
MVP: Smelly Hand. Although he took the first match, I won the next two games with him stuck on 1 land and 4 lands respectively. First turn BoP, second turn Doran, third turn Leige and your opponent is on 1 land sounds pretty exciting to me.
Round 4: Faeries again.... 1-2
Karma.... Made fatal mistake of not playing around Mistblind Clinque and Scion. GG
Round 5: Faeries again....... WTH..... Notice 5 rounds I played against decks with Cryptic commands... 2-0
MVP: Treetop Villages. Basically, I top decked path to exile for his last blocker and punch through his last blockers with 2 treetops and 1 putrid leech. He made mistake of Thoughtseizing me despite on 3 life left.
Round 6: Jund Good Stuff. 1-2
I lost to him not because of skill, but rather, because he was just plain lucky. He has better top deck skills. BUT I am gonna stomp him in Nationals... For Real!
Round 7: Green/White Tokens 2-0
The unfortunate opponent that got paired up with me. He needs an ID where as I need a win. For two games in a row, I mulligan till 6, keeping a 1land and 1 bird hand. Leige equip with Sledge. Enough said.
My conclusion
Doran is once again a 50-50 match up agn the meta game now. Armed with 2 best removals in the current format aka Maelstorm Pulse and Path to Exile and access to uber sb options like Celestial Purge, Forge Tender etc.
Metagame is seriously filled with loads of annoying flying pest. Thank God for the 3 Cloudthreshers in my sb, I could eke out a win through unexpected fae players.
My advice is to play something fast and furious. Jund is what I feel is best for such cases. Do not attempt to play faeries unless you have immerse amount of playtesting. (ie: Lucas...)
Good Luck for next Saturday. Need help for playtesting pls chio... =P
Decklist
4 Birds of Paradise (Mana is damn screwed in this deck, thus this pwns Noble)
4 Treefolk Harbringer (With Doran, this is a 3/3 for 1 mana. And he tutors for your Doran or Murmuring Bosk)
4 Putrid Leech (Smack controls ass)
4 Qasali Pridemage (No bitterblossom, razormane masticore, equipment for joo!)
3 Gaddock Teeg (No Planeswalker, commands and ambition)
4 Dauntless Escort (No Wrath, terror, deathmark etc...)
4 Doran, the Siege Tower (Big Daddy Cool!)
3 Wilt Leaf Leige (Anthem on legs... What more you want?)
4 Maelstorm Pulse (Die multiple copies! Die!)
4 Path to Exile (Cheapo Swords to Plowshares)
1 Behemoth Sledge (Fat, trampling, life gaining beasts...)
4 Llanowar Wastes
4 Treetop Village
3 Murmuring Bosk
3 Wooded Bastion
2 Brushlands
3 Forest
1 Plains
1 Swamp
SB:
4 Zealous Persecution (Sb-ing this agn faeries more than tokens. Wtf)
4 Kitchen Finks (CB... no Red/Black)
3 Terror
3 Cloudtresher (Uber!)
1 Behemoth Sledge

Autopilot/Cascade Swans
Quite a famous, broken deck going around now, netting top 3 in Chicago and qualifying in quite a few regionals and more.
2 Ad Nauseam
4 Bituminous Blast
4 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Swans of Bryn Argoll
4 Seismic Assault
4 Reflecting Pool
4 Graven Cairns
4 Cascade Bluffs
4 Rugged Prairie
4 Ghitu Encampment
4 Treetop Village
4 Spinerock Knoll
4 Vivid Crag
4 Vivid Marsh
1 Mutavault
4 Fire-Lit Thicket
1 Mountain
sideboard:
4 Qasali Pridemage
3 Vexing Shusher
2 Volcanic Fallout
1 Maelstrom Pulse
2 Aura of Silence
2 Ajani Vengeant
1 Ad Nauseam
For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this deck is chock full of lands (many of them functional). So it doesn’t draw much other than lands; there are four major spell slots, which stick together two-plus-two like LEGOs:
* Bituminous Blast and Bloodbraid Elf
* Swans of Bryn Argoll and Seismic Assault
The Cascade twins are there to flip the functional cards. Bloodbraid Elf can literally only flip over Seismic Assault; Bituminous Blast can flip any of the other three cards (the cream dream of course being Bituminous Blast into Bloodbraid Elf into Seismic Assault).
With such a dense percentage of lands, the Swans + Assault combination is generally lethal. That is, every land pointing at a Swans of Bryn Argoll is 70% likely to flip another land; a minimum of one land per cycle will at least “keep you going” more or less “forever” until such point that you have 10 lands to throw at the opponent’s noggin.
Ad Nauseum has generally less risk in this deck than most because there are lots of lands. You can pick up lots of lands to kill the opponent with a Seismic Assault, or pick up essentially any of the other cards to set up or complete the combo.

ITS COMPULSORY TO INPUT YOUR ATTENDANCE FOR THE EVENTS OR STERN ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN. (Stern actions = demotion and sai gang! LOL)
I would have send out sms to ask you to check the blog already by the time I upload this post. Please be considerate because if the attendance for the particular event is poor (esp Team supper/outing) I will have to move it to another weekend.
If you can;t make it due to a particular weekend do post your available dates so the person in charge can plan the event smoothly.
Let's help each other and make every win a team victory and should any team member lose let's share the pain together. (sounds corny yah?)

Budget.dec
Hi all, due to financial woes from students. Below is a deck which can cost u ess than 50$ for T2. Trust me, this deck is not any random rubbish. It abuses haste and cascade. If you still don;t know how broken cascade is, how is how it is defined from www.magicthegathering.com
"One very important thing to keep in mind when playing cascade cards is that the cascade ability resolves before the initial spell does. First off, that means that even if your opponent has a counterspell they will have to use it on either your initial spell or the cascade spell you flip up (that is, unless the counterspell is Double Negative, in which case you can kiss your initial spell and your cascaded spell goodbye)."
Here is the decklist: (bracketed cards are expensive rares but can be do without)
Creatures:
1cc:
4 Mogg fanatic / (4 figures of destiny = no use = save $88)
4 Tattermage Manic
2cc: (choose between these 3, I recommend the Mudbrawler as its single colored and the hushblade is useful only if u have a turn one Tattermage Manic)
4 Jund Hushblade
4 Mudbrawler Cohort
4 Rip-Clan Clasher
3cc: (here comes the fats...)
4 Boggart Ram Gang
4cc: (Your most broken card in the deck...)
4 Bloodbraid Elves
Creature count= 24
Burn/Growth spells = 13-14 depending on how you like your land count to be like
4 Incinerate
4 Flame Javelin
4 Colossal Might
1-2 Shock/Giant Growth
Lands: Since everything is low cost, it is highly relative safe to play 22-23 lands
4 Fire-Lit Thicket (Only rare... but its uber to fix your mana)
3 Tree-top Village (Man lands like Tree-top and Ghitu is to kill control)
3 Ghitu Encampment
7 Mountains
5 Forest
Its quite a scary deck if you see it as ...
Turn 1: Land - Tattermage Manic
Turn 2: Land - Hushblade , attack, opponent takes 5
Turn 3: Land - Creature (with haste)/burn/growth your attackers opponent will take damage again yah lets say you burn your opponent's blocker and attacks for another 5 points
Turn 4: Land - Bloodbraid elf- whatever this girl cascade out its a deal for u (other than your flame javelins). If heng heng comes out your ram gang, opponent will be dead this turn, if he doesn'thave a blocker. If a colossal might comes out, he is died too!
Creature breakdown:
One reason why I prefer Mogg fanatic over figures are
firstly: money issues
secondly: figure does absouletly nothing if he hits play in turn 2/3 or if cascaded out. Mogg can shoot your opponent or his blockers or his twitters/figures/stillmoons and Mogg survives a volcanic fallout, since he can be thrown in your opponents face!
Mudbrawler Cohort vs Rip Clan Clasher vs Jund Hushblade
Mudbrawler is mono -colored. Every single creature in your deck is red. Got it? Period.
http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=146062
check out its angry face. Looks like tee boon!
Rip Clan Clasher
You need two colors on turn two to get it out. Without proper power lands, it could be challenging!
Jund Hushblade
Ok. For a power 3 creature with haste, you need a Tattermage Manic, or Boggart Ram Gang, or Bloodbraid, or Figure, or Rip Clan clasher in play. Plus it needs duel color, so its kinda challenging yah
Boggart Ram Gang
3 cc, 3/3 haste, wither
Uberly powered creature. Wither kills Walls. Toughness 3 survives volcanic fall out, haste = card advantage.
Bloodbraid Elf
Play her for haste and cascade... Nothing else matters.
Spell Breakdown:
Incinerate:
Good old 2cc for 3 damage. I was quite spoilt for Punctured Blast due to the wither ability to kill persist, but, then again, you can't have best of both worlds yah
FlameJavelin:
One spell like this resolves equals one-fifth of the person sitting opposite of you life total. At only 3 cc? You deserved to be slapped hard if you need me to explain more
Colossal Might:
This is your bomb. +4 power and trample makes walls crumble into the graveyard and let your annoying cheap monsters become fatties. Plus 4 dmg = one fifith of the life total that you wanna reduce. See Flame Javelin. This card is damn scary if it is cascaded out with your elf.
Giant Growth/Shock:
Both are equally good cause it help boost your offense and defense (kill birdies and figures)
Lands:
If you wanna empower teh deck more.... Add in Karpulsan Forests! Thats all!
Total cost of the deck:
Tattermage Manic: 4 x .5 = $2
Mogg Fanatic: 4 x 1= $4
Mudbrawler: er... pick up the junk piles from bishan, they are infested with these
Rip Clan Clasher: See Mudbrawler
Jund Hushblade: Ppl will bedying to open boosters, just kop from them
Boggart Ram Gang: 4 x 1.5 = $6
Bloodbraid Elf: 4 x 1.5 = $6
Incinerate: 4 x .5 = $2
Flame Javelin: 4 x 2 = $8
Colossal Might: See Jund Hushblade.... its a freaking common
Giant Growth/Shock: Please just kop from any senior players... or just pay 50cents for it!
Fire-Lit Thicket: 4 x 7 = $28 I am sure you can get cheaper deals, all of you are conman
Treetop: 3 x 1.5 = $4.50
Ghitu: 3 x 1 = $1
IF u need to buy mountains and forests, you will not be in this team already yah
Total: $51.50
Not to mention most commons and uncommons can be found by alot of other team mates so seriously I think you just need to pay $28 for the Fire-Lit Thicket!
Savings compared to playing an expensive deck = count yourself
The expression of your opponent dying on turn 4 randomly, priceless
For anything else,
just use VISA.....

Ball challenge by Stan
Hi all,
Stan would like to challenge you all to play basketballs. His reasons are
- to see grandpa cow bounce up and down
- he never touched his balls for a long long time
- the rest of us are weak in playing balls
So if you are interested, leave down your comments and the date where you can accept his challenge. One thing for sure is I will make sure ill bounce him....

Standard Environment
Hi guys,
I understand most of you are mugging or preparing to fly off to overseas for NS commitment. However, here are some stuffs you may wanna consider
1) If you are playing for Nationals or Nationals Qualifyer, do save money to get EITHER of these two cards
Windbrisk Heights (for aggroish people)
http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?&id=145798
OR
Cryptic Command (for the controllish people)
http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?&id=141819
Seems like these two cards are the back bone of most decks doing very well in T2. So I urge all of you to get a set of either one.
2) If you still got any planeswalker, PLEASE DO NOT SELL them. They are going to be reprinted in M10 (11th Ed) and somehow, they seems to be doing very well in the T2 scene. So, only time will tell whether they will drop in price.
3) If you do not have the $$ to keep or hold cards, please just sell them away. Don't starve for Magic, its so not cool. =) Just buy what you need for your deck and sell the rest away, it helps to ease the pain if the card drops in price in future too!

More photos for Day 2
The GP itself
Probably a not so acceptable result of having only 1 of us to make it to day 2, but, at least very one of us had our fair share of fun!
Our results as follows:
Zhao Zhi: Made day 2 with 6 wins, 2 loss, final standings of 56 place with usd$200
Daniel: 5wins, 3 loss
Alvin Neo: 4 wins, 4 loss
Kenneth: 4 wins, 4 loss
Kenneth: 4 wins, 4 loss
Daniel Neo: 3 wins, 5 loss
Stan: 3 wins, 5 loss
Chao lin: 2wins, 4 loss, 2 draws (wth!)
Chao lin: 2wins, 4 loss, 2 draws (wth!)
Our grand moment was at round 7 when Daniel played against a japanese player. Daniel thought that he was just another jap player, but, he was the PRO PLAYER for 2007! Of cos , Daniel was pwned with a result of 1-2. (Hey at least I won him one round!)
And at round 8, Zhao zhi thought he could avenged Daniel when he played against Saito, Pro player for 2007 (yeah, same opponent as Daniel), but, he was also mercilessly pwned by him too!
On to the photos!
When we eat....
Our very FIRST Team Supper on Friday evening before the GP!
6 bowls of Minced meat noodles, 2 plates of bee hoon, 1 wu xiang variety, 2 bows of porridge, 1 fried oyster egg, 30 chicken wings, more than a dozen of otah and 6 bowls of iced cheng teng.
Fuuu.... no wonder cows eat so much too!
Saturday, after the grueling GP, its off to supper again!!!
Check it out! Its always chicken wings!!! Cow and chicken!
